Alexia Clunies-Ross

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC Registered Member of AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists)

Alexia (Lex) graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2021 with First Class Honours in Physiotherapy, having already earned a First Class degree in Sports Performance and Coaching from the University of Plymouth in 2011.

She began her clinical career in private practice in Bournemouth, specialising in musculoskeletal conditions, and worked as lead physiotherapist at the Dorset Multiple Sclerosis Centre. She now runs her own clinic, Kahu Physiotherapy, based here at Clarence House.

Alexia takes a hands-on, whole-person approach to treatment, combining manual therapy, tailored exercise rehabilitation, acupuncture and therapeutic ultrasound. She places a strong emphasis on educating clients about their own condition or injury, believing that understanding the "why" behind their treatment gives them genuine agency in their recovery; whether that's getting back to a hobby they love, staying active with their grandchildren, or simply maintaining the strength and independence to manage everyday life with confidence. A keen surfer herself, she has a particular enjoyment in helping active clients get back to the hobbies they love, safely and for the long term, and she works just as closely with clients of all ages to support comfortable, independent living. She is APPI Pilates trained - both matwork and Reformer- and is currently completing her yoga teacher training, bringing a strong mobility focus into her rehab programmes. She also offers 1-2-1 Strength and Conditioning and Pilates Reformer sessions.

Her specialist areas include:

  • Musculoskeletal conditions

  • Injury rehabilitation

  • Strength and Conditioning

  • Pilates (mat and reformer)

  • Acupuncture
